We understand hybridity in the broadest sense. We invite papers that investigate instances such as linguistic hybridity as well as those that trace specific go-betweeners with a German implication. We care about hybrid spaces, hybrid knowledge, hybrid identities, hybrid music, and much more. We also care about the politics of hybridity and its counterpart-purity. How were the two negotiated? We encourage presenters to reflect on how the employment of the term as an analytical category can add to the study of German history more generally.
The Cambridge German History Research Group is a biweekly hybrid seminar series that brings together scholars working on German history, offering them an opportunity to broaden their network, present their research and exchange ideas. It is funded by the DAAD Cambridge Hub.
